Features
• Disables Motion Blur, Depth of Field, Bloom, and Color Fringing.[/*]
• Potato PC Version (Max FPS): Completely disables dynamic lighting and reflections. This provides a massive framerate boost for older hardware, though interiors and water will lose realistic lighting bounces.[/*]
• Balanced Version: Disables Lumen but retains Screen Space Global Illumination (SSGI) and Screen Space Reflections (SSR). This keeps the game looking great while still providing a solid FPS increase.[/*]
Installation Instructions
• Download the version you want (Potato or Balanced) under the Files tab.[/*]
• Extract the downloaded zip file.[/*]
• Press Win + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.[/*]
• Paste your respective directory path below and hit Enter:
• Steam Users:
%LOCALAPPDATA% Subnautica2 Saved Config Windows[/*]
• Xbox / Game Pass Users:
%LOCALAPPDATA% Subnautica2 Saved Config WinGDK[/*]

• Open either Windows or WinGDK based on what version you have.[/*]
• Pick whether you want Potato or Balanced configuration, open that folder.[/*]
• Drag and drop the
Engine.inifile from the downloaded folder into this directory. (Note: If the folder is empty, just drop it right in. If a file already exists, overwrite it).[/*]
• CRITICAL STEP: Right-click the new
Engine.inifile, select Properties, check the box next to Read-only at the bottom of the General tab, and click Apply. If you do not do this, the game will automatically delete the modded file and reset your graphics on startup.[/*]
Uninstallation
• Navigate back to the config folder using the paths above.[/*]
• Right-click the
Engine.inifile, select Properties, and uncheck Read-only.[/*]
• Delete the file. The game will generate a fresh, default settings file the next time you launch it.[/*]
