The goal is not to completely transform the game, but to enhance immersion through improved clarity, subtle cinematic contrast, balanced color grading, and cleaner environmental detail. Underwater visibility feels sharper and more defined without sacrificing the natural depth, fog, and atmosphere that make Subnautica unique.
Lighting and contrast are carefully adjusted to preserve deep ocean ambience while improving scene readability, especially in darker biomes and caves. Colors remain vibrant but controlled, avoiding the oversaturated look common in many ReShade presets.
Sharpening is intentionally balanced to enhance texture detail and environmental definition without introducing excessive noise, shimmer, or harsh edges during movement.
