Subnautica 2 Mod Manager is a safety-first Windows mod manager for Subnautica 2 UE4SS and pak mods.
It is built around a simple flow: Drag/drop or Install From File -> Install & Enable -> Apply -> Launch
The manager imports mods into its own library, lets you enable or disable them in profiles, applies supported managed mods to the game folder, records installed files in a manifest, and can uninstall only files it installed.

• UE4SS mods using dlls/main.dll[/*]
• Pak bundles:[/*]
• .pak[/*]

Pak target policy:

Storefront / Install Layout Support
Steam:
Steam is the tested path and is auto-detected through Steam library/appmanifest discovery.
Epic/manual Win64:
Supported through Settings manual path selection when the install exposes the normal Unreal layout with Subnautica2 Binaries Win64 and Subnautica2 Content Paks.
Game Pass:
Game Pass WinGDK support is experimental. The manager can recognize the reported Content Subnautica2 Binaries WinGDK layout. Game Pass UE4SS base/runtime packages are treated as Content-root payloads, while standard UE4SS Lua mods target: Content Subnautica2 Binaries WinGDK ue4ss Mods
Individual mods can still crash if they are not compatible with Game Pass/WinGDK, even when the folder target is correct. If a Game Pass setup crashes, test one mod at a time.
Manual path selection accepts the outer install folder, the inner Subnautica2 project folder, Subnautica2 Binaries Win64, the Game Pass Content folder, Content Subnautica2, or Content Subnautica2 Binaries WinGDK.
Review Required / Blocked Layouts
Some layouts are detected but blocked from automatic Apply:
• Loose game-root overlays[/*]
• SN2P-style root overlays[/*]
• Arbitrary root DLL/config overlays[/*]
• Ambiguous archives containing several unrelated mod candidates[/*]
• Unsupported archive/file layouts[/*]
• Unexpected unmanaged game-root overwrites[/*]
These are blocked because they can affect game launch, conflict with other loaders, or leave unmanaged files behind. Unknown/manual files are reported, not deleted.
Safety Model
Apply installs supported enabled mods and removes manager-installed files that no longer belong to the active profile.
Every managed install is recorded in install_manifest.json. If an existing managed target is overwritten, the original file is backed up first. Installed Files / Backups and uninstall actions only touch files recorded in the manager manifest.
Config editing is available only for manager-installed files. Saving a config creates a backup first. Imported-but-not-installed mods show install-first guidance instead of an editor.
Reset to Vanilla switches to the Vanilla profile and removes manager-installed files after confirmation. It does not delete saves, unknown files, or manually installed files.
Support
If something scans incorrectly, Apply does nothing, a mod is marked Needs Review, or a mod installs to the wrong folder, please include a support report.
In the app: Help / Support -> Generate Support Report
Please include:
• The support report text[/*]
• The mod archive filename[/*]
• The active profile name[/*]
• The action you clicked[/*]
• The visible warning or error[/*]
Do not include save folders or personal files. The support report is designed to redact personal home paths and omit save paths.
