Overview
Adds a new buildable Database Terminal to the build menu. This is a NoA terminal that scans every container type in a 25m range (extendable) and lets you search, browse, and pull items from a hand crafted interface. Multiplayer supported.
I tried to style the elements to match Subnautica 2 aesthetic while keeping some uniqueness.
How It Works
• Build the Database Terminal from Interior Modules in the Build menu, next to the NoA Terminal[/*]
• Interact with it and a custom animated loading screen plays while containers are scanned [/*]
• Browse every item in every nearby container- grouped by item type, sorted alphabetically[/*]
• Type to search and filter items by name [/*]
• Click PULL to transfer any item directly to your inventory[/*]
• Press ESC to close[/*]
[line]
Installation
• Install UE4SS for Subnautica 2 (if you haven't already)[/*]
• Extract the DatabaseTerminal folder into Subnautica2/Subnautica2/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/[/*]
• Launch the game. Once you reach the main menu, close the game. (This step auto-deploys required game assets.)[/*]
• Re-launch the game. The Database Terminal will now appear in the Builder menu under Interior Modules.[/*]
*Important*: when updating the mod, be sure not to touch the DatabaseTerminal_data folder in your mods directory as it stores important data which allows your terminals to persist across sessions in game.
The mod auto-deploys its IoStore assets on first run. If you prefer to install the IoStore assets yourself, copy the following files from Mods/DatabaseTerminal/Assets/ to Subnautica2/Content/Paks/~mods/
• DatabaseTerminal_P.pak[/*]
• DatabaseTerminal_P.ucas[/*]
• DatabaseTerminal_P.utoc[/*]

Features
Buildable Terminal
Craft and place the Database Terminal from the Interior Modules section of the Builder menu (next to the NoA terminal). The terminal uses a modified ComputerCore mesh with custom materials so it looks like a dedicated Alterra data access point, but is still distinct from the standard NoA terminal.
Full Inventory Browser
Open the terminal to see every item across all nearby containers in one scrollable list.
• Items grouped by type with thumbnail icons from the game[/*]
• Each item shows sub-rows per container: container icon to distinguish the type, label, count, and a PULL button[/*]
• Sorted alphabetically by item name[/*]
• Scans all container types within a configurable radius, including all locker types, tailing chest & jar variants, battery & power cell chargers, bioreactors, processors, etc[/*]
Category Filter
Filter items by category using the sidebar buttons.
• Minerals, Flora, Fauna, Gear, Power, Food, Medical, Materials[/*]
• "All" button shows everything (default)[/*]
• Click a category to filter, click again to return to All[/*]
Search
Type in the search box to instantly filter items by name.
Remote Item Pull
Click the PULL button on any container sub-row to transfer one item of that type from that container directly to your inventory.
• Multiplayer-safe - verifies item still exists in source container before pulling[/*]
• REFRESH button to re-scan containers for updated data[/*]
Custom Animated Loading Screen
A polished loading sequence plays each time you open the terminal, handmade in figma by yours truly
• Hex grid glow sweep & radar pulse[/*]
• Added the alterra glitch logo to make it fit SN2 UI[/*]
• Can be disabled in settings [/*]

Multiplayer
Works in multiplayer!
Each player will need to build and use their own Database Terminal. Still WIP on sharing the build state between clients but it's a bit hacky and I wanted to get a working version of this mod out first
• Item pulls use the game's server-validated transfer system so there's no risk of item duplication[/*]
• Multiplayer-safe pull validation: if another player already took an item, you'll see "Item no longer available"[/*]
• REFRESH button re-scans containers for the latest state[/*]
• Requires the mod installed on each player's machine[/*]

Configuration
Edit Mods/DatabaseTerminal/config.txt:
# Scan radius in meters from the terminal (max 235)
radius=25
# Skip the loading screen animation
skip_loading=false
If you have SN2ModSettings installed, these options also appear in the in-game Settings > Mods tab.

Requirements
• UE4SS for Subnautica 2[/*]

Known Issues
• Rapid open/close crash opening and closing the terminal extremely quickly (3+ times per second) can crash the game. This is my "F around and find out" feature, not a bug (JK it's a bug. but honestly, what are you trying to accomplish?)[/*]
• When you load a save, the terminals will render as regular NoA terminals for the first 4-5 seconds. It should swap back to your DB terminal after[/*]
