SubManager
SubManager is a desktop mod manager for Subnautica 2 built to make installing, organizing, and troubleshooting mods much less painful. It gives you a single place to manage your mod setup, switch between profiles, check for compatibility problems, and work with Nexus Mods downloads without digging through folders every time you want to change something.
If you are tired of manually copying files, renaming folders, remembering loadouts, or trying to figure out which mod broke your setup, this is the tool the game should have had from the start.
What SubManager Does
SubManager helps you manage your Subnautica 2 mod setup from a clean desktop interface. It can detect your game install, work with your mod folder, install mods from local archives, connect to Nexus Mods, and keep your current setup organized over time.
It is designed for players who want a fast way to manage a real mod list, not just install one ZIP and hope for the best.
Features
Game path detection for supported installs
UE4SS support tools so you can get the required mod loader in place faster
Nexus Mods integration for searching, downloading, and installing supported mods
Per-mod controls to enable, disable, remove, and inspect installed mods
Open mod folder directly for the exact mod you want to edit or inspect
Doctor panel to surface common problems like missing dependencies, conflicts, validation issues, and build mismatches
Quick fixes from Doctor for supported issues
Profile system so you can save and switch between different mod loadouts
Curated preset profiles to help build a setup quickly
Crash / diagnostic export for easier troubleshooting and support
Save backup tools
Cleaner day-to-day workflow than manual folder management
Why Use It
Manual mod management works until it doesn’t.
Once you have more than a few mods installed, it becomes easy to lose track of what is enabled, what depends on what, what changed after an update, and which folder belongs to which mod. SubManager solves that by giving you one view of your setup and tools built around actual maintenance, not just installation.
It is especially useful if you:
test multiple mod combinations
keep separate casual and heavily modded setups
want to switch between themed loadouts quickly
need help diagnosing a broken mod list
want Nexus downloads and local installs in one tool
Nexus Mods Support
SubManager supports Nexus Mods integration so you can search for mods and install them from within the app. Your personal Nexus Mods API key is stored locally and used only for Nexus API requests.
You can also check for updates on installed Nexus-linked mods and keep your setup current without manually comparing version pages.
Doctor / Compatibility Checks
One of the main goals of SubManager is helping you figure out why a setup is failing.
The Doctor view scans installed mods and reports issues such as:
validation problems
missing dependencies
known conflicts
game build compatibility warnings
When possible, SubManager can offer a direct fix action so you can correct simple problems immediately instead of hunting through folders and metadata by hand.
Profiles
Profiles let you save named mod setups and switch between them when you want a different experience.
Examples:
lightweight vanilla-plus setup
performance-safe setup
builder / sandbox setup
challenge or hardcore setup
testing profile for new mods
This makes it much easier to keep stable and experimental setups separate.
Diagnostics
SubManager includes a diagnostic export feature that packages useful information for troubleshooting, including installed mod state and related diagnostic data. This is useful when reporting issues or trying to track down a broken load order or bad install.

Notes
This tool is a manager, not a mod pack.
It does not include other authors’ mods.
Always read individual mod requirements and compatibility notes.
Large game updates may temporarily break some mods until authors update them.
Doctor warnings are there to help, but they do not replace reading mod instructions.
